A story that continues

The chateau was built in 1781–1783 on the site of a meeting house of the Unity of the Brethren. It got its present neo-baroque look in a rebuilding in 1914. Jan Amos Komenský (Comenius) lived in Brandýs and wrote The Labyrinth of the World and the Paradise of the Heart here.

After the war the chateau served various institutions. In 2013 a ceiling collapsed and the building stood empty. Since 2019 MUDr. Pavel Skalický has been restoring it with his family, friends and volunteers.

Not to be confused with the state chateau in Brandýs nad Labem.
